Moved-Pachysphinx modesta
Moved from ID Request.

I unlinked your images because they were of two different species.

Actually,
they weren't. I was interested in providing scale for the dark moth in this picture, for which I submitted a closer crop.

Linked images
Exactly, the submitted cropped photo: http://bugguide.net/node/view/967138/bgimage was originally linked (i.e. the photo of the smaller unknown moth was displayed beneath the photo of Pachysphinx modesta) and linking photos is reserved for images of the same individual. So I unlinked the two images so that the other unknown will remain in the ID request so someone can attempt to identify it while the identified P. modesta could be moved to the appropriate page.

Ahh, now I might understand your original intent, this photo was meant to be an additional photo of the unknown individual for scale purposes. While this is understood, BugGuide's submission rules require a single image to be of a single species.

EDIT: And so, this photo of P. modesta would actually contradict this "rule" seeing as there are multiple species. BUT, seeing as this is a well known, easily recognizable and large species, I feel that it is fine to keep your photo of P. modesta at the species level in the guide.
