click beetle - Athous orvus - Female
Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 31, 2014

Moved, even better!!!
The specimen is a female but the form of the scutellum and overall paler color supports A. orvus (a new species for BG).

Again, not sure why the double move. BG is acting screwy for me today.

Moved from Athous orvus.

Nice work Blaine
Thanks for checking all the voucher specimens again! I'll have to see if I can get more new ones for the guide for you.

Moved
Moved from Athous cucullatus.

Moved less tentatively
Pretty sure I see carinae on the hind angles, which rules-out H. bilobatus. Anterior margin of the scutellum also looks like a good fit for A. cucullatus.

There are two more in the NE in this complex, A. fossularis and A. orvus, and once I see the specimen I can be sure exactly which it is.

Moved from Hemicrepidius bilobatus.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Click Beetles.
