Beefly - Anastoechus barbatus

This Beefly almost drowned in our pool. We rescued it and placed it on a nearby evergreen. It later flew away. Would appreciate suggestions as to identification.

Diagnostic characters aren't visible, but only A. barbatus is known from BC.
