Slow mo larvae - Nematodes penetrans

Slow mo larvae - Nematodes penetrans
Meredith, Belknap County, New Hampshire, USA
February 18, 2004
Size: about 13 mm
Two years before I was probably even aware of family Eucnemidae I discovered a large, dead branch riddled with these slow-motion larvae, most bent in half in what I have come to recognize as a eucnemid larval characteristic. I had hoped some would mature but none did.
