Staphylinidae 17abc Aleochara - Aleochara
Oka, Deux-Montagnes County, Quebec, Canada
December 13, 1901
Size: 5mm
From flight interception trap.

Moved from ID Request.

"December 13, 1901" --pls clear the date field
these are all Aleochara but i wouldn't expect species in this monstrously speciose genus to be IDable from photos

I will try to
use some keys, otherwise I can send them out to more knowledgeable people. It can take time, but when I get names, I will update any picture that has not been "frassed". Thanks!

Very few folks
That I know of that work on staphylinids, if you find someone willing to ID material, that would be a valuable asset. I would suggest either pointing or minuten pinning small specimens, many times there are diagnostic characters on the ventral surface that these cards make impossible to see.

Thanks for your
advice, Guy. Most of my recently collected staphs are mounted on points. Those that aren't can be easily unglued, as the glue I use is water-soluble.
