Orange bodied wasp with very thick hind legs -
Eichlinia cucurbitae
Bedford County, Virginia, USA
August 3, 2014
Size: Approx. 2 cm
Seen on basil flowers. Has extremely thick, chunky orange- or copper-colored hind leg segments. Squared off wing tips.

Clearwing moth of some kind.
I've linked your images, as they depict the same individual.
Please crop your pics as close to "just the bug" as possible. Only you and the editors have the ability to view the full-size images. Everyone else is left looking at a tiny bug in a lot of unnecessary background. :)
