Looks good per MPG but somewhat out of range if it is indeed this moth.

The existence of this Texas species with the dark fringe was called to my attention by Valerie Bugh.

Since Valerie Bugh told me that I had been misidentifiny the Wine-tinted one, I asked her to review this one. I think these are tricky.

Valerie's Answer
"I think this one is either vino' or unresolved. If the obvious dark/white fringe is not evident, I'm hesitant to say it's texanalis. I'd only seen texanalis before last year, but the difference of a vinotinctalis was striking, at least with the individual I saw. These moths also seem pretty variable in color, with texanalis less so than vino' and photographic technique (light reflection mostly) can make the necessary details difficult to see. I wonder if the two species really are SPECIES and not just a regional variation."

Compare
Compare with images by Riley, Bugh and Hoy in which the dark and pale areas of the fringes form two consistent and sharply delineated contrasting bands. The border between the dark and pale bands for this image and Chuck's is blurred with the dark band nearly obsolete and the pale band very yellowish. Monroe

seems to make this as the main difference between the two species.

Not Sure
The blurry lines and lack of sharply delineation between the dark fringe base and the lighter outer portion seems more consistent with some Florida examples of
vinotinctalis
.
