More importantly, is the similar example of
youngana
at MPG (3rd spread specimen) incorrect?

Thanks, cwmelton. Must be right.
Peterson says there is sometimes an additional dash in apical section of forewing.
This Acleris group has a lot of variiation within species: i.e.:
Acleris variana
as well as youngana.
