Insect on red spiderling plant - Spalacopsis stolata

Insect on red spiderling plant - Spalacopsis stolata
Ormond by the Sea, Volusia County, Florida, USA
August 10, 2013
I photographed this insect on a red spiderling plant (Boerhavia diffusa) in the morning last summer, in our yard at the Atlantic coast. I failed to measure the insect or make note of what that was underneath the insect (dried part of plant? something the insect was eating? something the insect came out of?), but based on the diminutive size of the plant, I would guess the insect was roughly a half inch long(or less?).

Moved tentatively; suffusa is a possibility

Wonder if it is a Spalacopsis

Spalacopsis looks good
It does look like I might have photographed a Spalacopsis. And a quick search through bugguide & on the internet seems to indicate that Spalacopsis filum rostulatum is the best match.

Thank you very much for your ID.
