Fresh Water Amphipod ? - Baetis

Fresh Water Amphipod ? - Baetis
N47.659502 W52.730877 (WGS84), Torbay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
August 9, 2014
Size: 4 mm body length
Found in a brook using a dip net after stirring some stones on the bottom of the brook. The location was close to where this brook empties into the ocean, just a few meters upstream from the ocean's high tide line although the tide was low when I found this creature. I put the organism into a shallow container for the photos and returned it to the brook afterwards. Be sure to look at the full resolution view for a close-up of the antennae.

Nice photos.
Not an amphipod - Looks like a mayfly naiad(Ephemeroptera).
