My Albino Fly Guess
Many, many thanks. on the ID. I wonder if sex determination could be determined when these guys are out. My male was at 2 pm nectaring on Phyla nodiflora. Nothing obligate crepuscular about him.

And forgive perhaps the "albino" tag. I'm partially red/green colorblind and did not realize this insect had a green body. Thought it was an off white or maybe tan.

Sex determination
General advice on sex determination here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/154154. Tabanidae is one of the families where males have large eyes.

If you suspect that your color impression is wrong you should be able to ask your image editing program for the numeric color of a pixel.
