Argiope? - Neoscona oaxacensis

Argiope? - Neoscona oaxacensis
Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, 4 miles south of Fort Davis, Jeff Davis County, Texas, USA
August 13, 2014
Size: about an inch (with legs)
Looks like a specimen of Argiope; smaller than the big Argiope aurantia females I have seen elsewhere in Texas. Male? Juvenile? Different species?
Thanks
