Adelpha californica

Adelpha californica
1.7 mi. NNW of Antelope Fire Control Station, Willow Springs, San Benito County, California, USA
August 11, 2014
Size: ~5cm wingspan
We see these guys frequently out at the "ranch", but they rarely land where I can photograph them. This guy landed at our spring while I was photographing birds. I usually use a 200mm macro lens to photograph insects, but the 100-400mm telephoto lens did a reasonable job on this guy. Blue Oak, Sagebrush, Buckwheat habitat.
