Large Fly in north central Texas - Saropogon

Large Fly in north central Texas - Saropogon
Paradise, Wise County, Texas, USA
August 15, 2014
Size: 1 to 1 1/2"
I thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't find it in my images, and never got a response, so I guess not. I cannot find the identity of this funny looking creature. I've seen a few in my garden lately. Have only seen them land to rest, it appears...not eating plants or even landing on plants.

Nice photo...
It's an Asilid, Robber fly. Like one of the following.

Thanks!
Thank you for the ID and the photo compliment :) Seems I have lots of assassins in my garden (variety of assassin bugs and these). Sure wish they liked aphids and worms LOL :)
