A white tip at the posterior of the abdomen, white on the ventral surface of the abdomen and a couple brown stripe on the thorax.

Campichoeta
I believe this is Campichoeta, a new genus for the guide. The head chaetotaxy is correct; furthermore these flies seem to have a pale tip of the abdomen (e.g., see here, and other images on the web).

Wow, I'm glad I didn't pass it by!
I mean, it's not spectacular, but it did seem sort of distinctive.

That is part of the fun of shooting something small. There is a lot better chance that it is something new to the guide. Well, I'm amazed that you could ID it that far, thanks!

Angles
If you have more angles for this fly they would be useful as well. You managed to photograph a very rarely seen fly. I have worked on Diptera for nearly three decades and I have never seen or collected a Campichoeta. I also know there are very few in scientific collections. Keep up the great work!

It means a lot to get a compliment from someone like yourself. I'm sorry to say I don't have much more. I have a slightly different position, it might be of interest only because of the lack of other images. I will upload it, but I don't think it would count as a different angle.
