I'm really unsure about this one. Maybe a sawfly of some sort? It was photographed on the yellowing leaf of a peony. Any help identifying is appreciated.

You are correct that it is a sawfly, probably in the family Tenthredinidae. Look at the long palps dangling from its mouth.
