Tibicen auletes (nr. Brown form)
This cicada still looks to be a tad bit teneral, hence not yet exhibiting the characteristic strong white banding/frosted look. It's also important to mention, this species has 3 color forms in the Southeast.

1) Most common = green (varies from olive to taupe)
2) less common = tan, brown to reddish brown
3) rare = all black or nearly so incl. abdomen, mesonotum, pronotum and head (may show tendencies towards either the green or brown morph).
All color forms exhibit the same pattern of pruinosity and may often look covered in white powder.
