Butterfly - Asterocampa clyton

Butterfly - Asterocampa clyton
Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA
August 25, 2014
Size: app 1 1/2" in height
Unusual Butterfly feeding on a tomato. Wings consistently closed while at rest. Very bold & not frightened at all. Continued to follow wherever the tomato was. Taken near noon. Is this a Tawny Emperor with worn &/or torn wings?

Tawny Emperor
One of my favorites. They will chase and land on you for drinking sweat.Occasionally hitch a ride in the truck.

This is a
tawny emperor.
