yes, must be A. oblongifolia
Only three species in NY: oblongifolia, carinata, and rotundifolia. Definitely not the last one, and carinata is similar but only in southern/coastal NY.

definitely an Amblycorypha
and A. oblongifolia looks most likely.

Could you add the state please?

He is oblongifolia I am sure.They are the only ones that look like that here I suppose.
