Florida, or Dingy Purplewing? - Eunica tatila

Florida, or Dingy Purplewing? - Eunica tatila
Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammocks Botanical State Park (North Key Largo, Florida), Monroe County, Florida, USA
August 1, 2014

Florida - the shape of the wings is distinctive.
The elements of the color pattern are shaped and arranged differently as well (though they vary tremendously in color and intensity from individual to individual). And, if you look closely, the top of the antenna club is dark (pale all the way round on Dingy). And, one more thing - the palpi (front of the face) stick out forward further.

Moved from Butterflies (excluding skippers).

Purplewing
Thanks very much, David!
