Abstract

The genus Spintherophyta Dejean, 1837 is revised for North America north of Mexico. A key to the 4 included species is presented.

S. exigua, n. sp., is described from southwestern Texas.
S. arizonensis, n. sp., is described from Arizona.
Colaspoides violaceipennis Horn is transferred to Spintherophyta.

Characters used for the 1st time in a diagnosis of Spintherophyta include the size of the male mandibles and the emargination of the clypeus.
