a pair of sphingidae - Deidamia inscriptum - Male Female
austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
March 18, 2007
Size: 1 to 1 1/2" long
This is a pair of sphinx moths. If I am correct, the one on top is the female, the other one male. My best guess is that these are Amorpha juglandis, but the species is highly variable. Any ID help would be appreciated.

I still have them if anyone needs a better shot of something to ID them.

Yipee!
I collected the moths, and on the very next day I found about six or seven tiny green balls I assume are eggs. I'm going to try to rear them myself.

Cute.
Actually, I think its the spokesgnome for Travelocity:-) Sorry:-)

A Very Helpful Garden Ornament
This one's been out hunting for photography subjects- looks to have bagged his limit, too... :)
