Larva of unknown in hazelnut orchard - Oedemasia semirufescens

Larva of unknown in hazelnut orchard - Oedemasia semirufescens
Pemberton, Squamish - Lillooet Regional District, British Columbia, Canada
August 22, 2014
Size: 2 1/2 cm
Found on my shoulder while watering 8 yr old hazelnut orchard at 0930 on sunny, 26 degree C morning. Branches had been brushing my shoulder. The trees are in a 2 acre field without any understory, just cut grass.
Attached is newly cropped image.

We're thinking Oligocentria semirufescens

Can you crop this to a rectangle that is essentially 'just the bug'? While you can click on your image and see the full size 2300 pixel image you posted, the rest of us are restricted to a 560 pixel reduction where your cat is a tiny brown sliver in a sea of tan shirt.

Oligocentria semirufescens larva
Thank you. It certainly sounds right from Hodges' description. But will it nibble my hazelnuts? Beautiful creature!
