bit my son

Moved from ID Request.

Positive ID
Saddleback Caterpillar (Acharia stimulea). Don't touch it with your hands. They sting. Take it from someone who has been stung two times. :) They like to hide on the underside of leaves. Both times, I didn't even know they were there.

Saddleback Caterpillar
Thanks, it stung my son. wondering what to do for sting?

A couple of options are...
Run cold water over it, use toothpaste or aloe, or put a copper penny on it. I find those home remedies for burns and bee stings work well. The pain will go away. For me, it was gone within the hour. It was the immediate pain that was the worst.
