Size: approx. 1/2 in. wingspan
Hi. I need help to identify this insect. I have absolutely no idea what it is. It was flying around near the ground, and stopping to rest on dry leaves. This is the only pix I could get as it was fairly nervous.

Parasite
These flies lay eggs in burrows of underground insects, grasshopper egg pods, and similar terrestrial locations where larvae will eat other insects or their food stores.
