unknown spider - Araneus diadematus

unknown spider - Araneus diadematus
Salem, Bush's Pasture Park, Marion County, Oregon, USA
September 15, 2011
Was pretty sure that I added this early this morning, but maybe the hour (5:00 AM)I was doing it was the problem. I thought for a bit that the spider might be missing two legs, but the ventral pictures were taken before the top of the abdomen ones, and I can only remember one spider/web on that outing. It was my birthday you see. :-) Even though I don't celebrate the day much, I still remember them. Its other two legs must have been tucked up behind the abdomen in the ventral pictures. Took pictures of this gal (I think that's the right sex) for over twenty minutes having problems getting a focused shot (due to the webbing) and having to put in a new memory chip in the camera in the middle.
