Saw this guy at our spring. 36.66817°N, 121.03458°W; 2493 ft. elevation.

Definitely Sympetrum corruptum. I suspect the wingspan estimate of ~4 cm is a couple centimeters short.

the wingspan estimate I originally entered is short, it was probably closer to 6 or 7cm wingspan. Thank you for confirming the ID.
