Parasitized Skiff Moth Cat - Prolimacodes badia

Parasitized Skiff Moth Cat - Prolimacodes badia
Wildwood Park; Radford, Virginia, USA
September 8, 2014
I'm not sure what this is - found it on the underside of a sunflower leaf. About 10mm long? Looked as though a larva might be inside.
The "shell" was hard and was stuck tightly to the leaf.

Looks like a Skiff Moth that has been parasitized.
We don't think that will be a moth that emerges!

Poor baby:>(
Thanks for solving my mystery, J & J!
