I agree...
Any sycamore in the area? The larvae create characteristic blotch mines on the upper surface of the leaves, and in the right season the adults are usually nearby. But I don't know if there are similar-looking Stigmella in the area.

 
Sycamores
We had a very large sycamore in the back yard at that time, subsequently removed, as it was moving our boundary wall.
