Aphid on Burdock - Drepanaphis

Aphid on Burdock - Drepanaphis
Topsham, Orange County, Vermont, USA
September 9, 2014

Moved
Moved from Painted Maple Aphid.

I don't think this is D. acerifoliae, which has dark bordered wing veins and pretty conspicuous dorsal tubercles.

Moved
Moved from Aphids.
Thanks Natalie. There were maples and boxelder nearby.

Drepanaphis
Very distinct genus, and this may be D. acerifoliae They utilize Acer spp. as hosts so this one may have just been confused and probing real quick to see if it was the plant it needed.
