Collected as larvae from wet, pulpy sapwood of deciduous log Dec. 2, 2006 and photographed Mar. 18, 2007. Four beetles had eclosed, one recently judging by color, and one had died (or been killed) and eaten, leaving mostly just exoskeleton.

I think this is probably Centron*opus calcar*atus but I need to check one more feature, blond, hairy armpits (actually inner front femur surface).
