Unidentified wasp emerging from a Xylocopa dwelling - Monobia quadridens
Squeezepenny, Texas, Collin County, Texas, USA
September 7, 2014
In this photo sequence, the wasp was wiggling its antenna at the edge of the hole and attracted the attention of a small jumping spider, who approached quickly to investigate this tiny, wriggling morsel. The spider beat a hasty retreat the moment the wasp revealed its true dimensions.
