Is this is a Sphinx caterpillar?

Is this is a Sphinx caterpillar?
Larose Forest, Prescott-Russell, Ontario, Canada
August 29, 2014
This small caterpillar appears to be an early instar of a sphinx moth? I have searched through photos of the sphinx moth caterpillars in our area and haven't found one that fits, but there are not many photos of earlier instars. I thought at first, Hemaris thysbe, but this one doesn't have the 'granular' appearance. I can't remember which shrub it was on, but think it might have been a Prunus.

Tough...
Without a definitive hostplant or a final instar view, leaving this at Sphingidae may be best for now.

Thanks
At least I know for sure now it is a sphinx moth larva.
