Hornworm - Hyles lineata

Hornworm - Hyles lineata
Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
September 4, 2014
Size: 3-4"
There were thousands of these. Possibly a purslane hornworm/ white lined sphinx? They were enjoying the purslane at any rate. Many were getting squished as they tried to cross the road.

Moved from Sphinx Moths.

Yes - White-lined Sphinx cats…
They feed on a wide variety of plants including purslane.

See reference here.

Thanks, Ross
Should I move it to Hyles lineata?

Thanx...
Ryan.
