Lance-tipped Darner (Aeshna constricta)
That male has wedge-type claspers. In southern Ontario, that eliminates most of the Aeshna darners with the exception of Lance-tipped (A. constricta) and Shadow (A. umbrosa). Shadow Darners have much thinner blue marks on the abdomen. Therefore, this is a Lance-tipped Darner.

I agree with Dan's reasoning.
I agree with Dan's reasoning. The image shows a dorsal view of the appendages very well. The distinctive shape is shared only by umbrosa and constricta as Dan pointed out and I conclude constricta for the pattern of blue on the abdomen. Good job, Dan. It is great to have such a sharply focused and clear dorsal view, but when and if possible it is great to have a lateral view as well. Thanks.

Lake Darner Aeshna umbrosa
Lake Darner Aeshna umbrosa most likely with the little black line on its face.

I think it might be a Canada
I think it might be a Canada Darner Aeshna canadensis.
