Damselfly - Ischnura hastata - Male
Onley, Accomac (Eastern Shore) County, Virginia, USA
September 19, 2014
Size: approx 25mm
The orange pterostigma is unusual but may be only reflecting the late afternoon sun. The median stripe seems unusually broad. I could find nothing in the guide books or online to match this individual. Perhaps it is a juvenile. I am so curious to know what species it might be. It was found hunting on low vegetation at the edge of a fresh water pond.
