Crambus? - Crambus sperryellus

Crambus? - Crambus sperryellus
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
September 21, 2014
On dry Bromus diandrus (Ripgut Grass) in a disturbed area dominated by non-native grasses at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station. I think it may be Crambus, but is it possible to determine the species? Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Update: Confirmed as Crambus sperryellus by Josiah Gilbert at Butterflies and Moths of North America.

What a great photo!
I am still trying to become familiar with these moths and should stop my comment right here. But then it was a challenge to look at what MPG has to offer, and I liked the similarity of #5342 Crambus bidens. Just for fun!

Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks for the suggestion, but it looks to me like the range is wrong for #5342 Crambus bidens to be in southern California.

You can see the Crambus reported to BugGuide from California by doing an Advanced Search for Crambus and selecting "California" from "States/Provinces", then clicking "Go". From the results, it looks like several other similar species occur in SoCal.

You are right, of course.
I simply was intrigued by that great photo and neglected to look at your location and biden's distribution. Good luck with the ID.
