Thanks for adding this 2nd image to the post, Jim. It's very difficult to get a photo from just the right angle in the field for showing the facial grooves...especially when the mouthparts are folded up and the flap-like facial ridges pretty much enclose and obscure the facial grooves, as appears to be the case here.
But even though I can't clearly discern the facial grooves here, I'm convinced this is
P. floridanus
due to the theca being "distinctly longer than the height of its tergite" (cf. key near end of
Camras (2007)
), as well as the red on the cheeks. It also fits well with the
description of
P. floridanus
in Camras (1955)
.
