Our understanding is that species ID in this genus
is challenging. It seems there are several quite similar and precise measurements are needed, but you could definitely be correct

...my high school students used digital resources (probably wikipedia...) to ID it, and it seemed right to me. They were excited as it looked "tropical" and we're in the cool (40F) autumn weather now.
I don't claim to be an expert, but it was our best guess.
Does leaving the phone screen around it automatically mark it for Frass? We wanted to know for future class submissions.

Yes, it will probably be frassed after you get an ID
If you want it saved in the guide you would need to crop your images to a rectangle that is essentially 'just the bug'. You can see what most of the images of that genus look like in the guide
here
