Biography:

Starting in 2019 I developed an interest in California plant galls, especially those in the Bay Area, and have been very active in identifying gall inducers on iNaturalist. I don't have the level of expertise that Joyce Gross does but I have been learning a lot.

I recommend Joyce's photoguides to California oak galls and non-oak galls.

I have created a list of California plant galls with links that may be of some help if you don't find your gall on Joyce's site and if you don't have a copy of Ron Russo's 2006 guide or his forthcoming [Princeton UP 3/2021] guide.
