My life is full of bugs, and that's a good thing! I've received my MS degree in General Biology working with salticids in the genus Phidippus around the Dallas TX area. As an undergrad, I worked as an entomologist for Washington State University, studying lady beetles, aphid parasitoids, and general insects associated with grapes and hops. Currently, along with my folks and husband, I run a farmers market floral/nursery business called Buggirl's Garden. Our blooming gardens provide an excellent opportunity to observe a diverse group of arthropods. As a closet taxonomist, I applaude Bugguide for getting out info on species and their distributions in an easy to use format. Way to go, guys and gals!

A side note: I tend to get a lot of comments on how bad a picture taker I am...sorry folks. Until the student loans are paid off, your stuck with me and my tiny Fuji finepix shots. Feel free to frass them after you record any nifty new info about the critters in question.
