Biography:

I am an enthusiastic amateur Odonatologist living in NE MN near Lake Superior. Teaching and speaking about dragonflies is one of my favorite things to do. I started the Minnesota Odonata Survey Project in 2006 and I hosted the first ever Bug Guide warm in 2007. My field guide, Dragonflies of the North Woods, won the 2004 National Outdoor Book Award in the Nature Guidebook Category.

I am lucky enough to live in a very under-surveyed region of North America, so new Odonate finds are a constant possibility!

My wife (a naturalist), two daughters and I live in the woods and are 'homesteading' and attempting to live a 'simple' life (which is always quite complicated!).
