I'm primarily a birder, but I've always been interested in all things nature. In 2016 I began to pay better attention to insects, trying to document any and all I see. By the end of the year, I was completely addicted and bought a mercury vapor light. I'm slowly trying to learn familiar species and get moth families down, but I'm still a complete noob. The only insects I'm somewhat competent on are butterflies and dragonflies. I heavily rely on bugguide's experts for identifying most of my insects.

I am 18 and from San Diego, California, but travel a lot and many of my photos will be from elsewhere (particularly Missouri and Arizona, two states I travel to frequently). I tend to post a lot during the summer but slow down during the school year.
