The first time I remember being enthralled with the feel of the camera in my hand, and the possibility of holding a moment in time, was during a fourth grade girl scout camping trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. My eyes do this funny trick of framing almost any scene that comes into my vision as a snapshot. Once I'm locked in on a subject, I'm driven to move closer and capture the details I would have missed with just a glance. That's what makes insects so interesting to me. When you get up close there are amazing intricate details on these tiny creatures. It's like the guy who copies the constituion onto the head of a pin!
