I've been highly interested in insects since before I can honestly remember, first with caterpillars and leps and then on from there. I've served 4 seasons with the Maryland Department of Agriculture doing mosquito control; mostly larviciding but I've also spent time in the laboratory identifying adult mosquitoes under a dissecting scope. I've taken a real interest in mosquitoes and have been focusing on identifying them almost nightly - my mothing excursions are mostly mosquito hunting excursions any more. I participate in the Maryland Biodiversity Project, where I'm a volunteer/editor, which is a citizen science project attempting to catalog all life in the state of Maryland. Check them out sometime!
