Biography:

Professionally, I am an environmental history PhD candidate. As a hobby, I document biodiversity in my back yard, which I am slowly converting from overgrown lawn to something mimicking a shrubby forest opening. I am striving for 90% native plants in the next five to ten years. It is my hope that this will encourage a gradual increase in native insects and other wildlife on site. I am very grateful to anyone willing to spare a few moments of their time to help me identify insects I observe as part of my little backyard biodiversity project. Not having a science background, myself, your help is crucial.
