Biography:

After moving from nearby a natural area in northern Indiana to a boring residential neighborhood in central Indiana in 2019, I felt disconnected from nature. So, I took up mothing to reconnect. As of the end of 2023, I've photographed around 1,300 moth species in Indiana. Most of these are on iNaturalist and I'm slowly adding them here to BugGuide. I'm here to learn and I appreciate corrections.

My favorite place to set my moth light is on the prairies and oak savannas at The Nature Conservancy's Kankakee Sands (Newton Co., IN). I lead our Friends of the Sands group and we host many moth and butterfly events as well as other natural history programs that highlight the biodiversity of the Kankakee Sands ecoregion. Check out our calendar of events at www.Friends-of-the-Sands.com.
