Biography:

My interest in moths began in 2011 when I read John Himmelman's book "Discovering Moths: Nighttime Jewels in Your Own Backyard". This book inspired me to paint trees with bait and enjoy moths long into the evening at my home in Jasper Co., Indiana. I began sheet-lighting in 2019 upon moving to Lebanon, Indiana. I admit I don't have the best camera for moth photography, but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying moths and contributing records from several counties in Indiana.

I volunteer with The Nature Conservancy at Kankakee Sands (Newton Co., IN). Our Friends of the Sands group hosts many moth and butterfly events as well as other natural history programs that highlight the biodiversity of the Kankakee Sands ecoregion. I put together the calendar of events for Friends of the Sands and I'm always looking for presenters to give a talk or hike out on the prairie at Kankakee Sands. I'd love to have someone present on fireflies, spiders, grasshoppers/crickets, or any natural history topic. You can check us out at Friends-of-the-Sands.com or email me at FriendsoftheSandsATyahoo.com. Thank you!
