Biography:

I'm a plant pathologist who never got to take an entomology class, and now I'm trying to make up for it! I'm a total novice with arthropods, but have pretty good observational skills, honed by years of staring at microscopic features of fungi. I'm looking forward to learning some insect vocabulary, and figuring out what features are most important for a good ID. In mycology, everyone rolls their eyes at amateur photos of the tops of mushrooms, and I know I'll commit the same sins in my early efforts with insects, so please let me know if I'm missing key features, and I promise to improve my submissions!
