I love hiking, am an avid bird-watcher, totally facinated by insects & all bugs, a total gardening addict; basically, I am just an indiscriminate nature lover! I mostly raise flowers, trees & herbs, but I'm just as comfortable growing veggies. Over the last 5 years, I've combined my gardening experience, my curiosity for insects, (& my love for them BOTH!), and I began raising & banding Monarch catapillars/butterflies from tiny eggs, all the way to release. I also grow all of their food- Milkweed, so I can do my part to cut back on O.E. & therefore, increase their numbers in the wild. I have also raised Eastern Black Swallowtails & Cecropia moths (Silk Worms). My plan is to expand my field of knowledge and raise many more varieties & do my part to raise more pollinators. I would also love to build a habitat for lady bugs this year & then buy & release a couple dozen of them.
