Biography:

Teaching 4th grade is so fun for me since students at this age are inquisitive and so willing to learn. They bring in specimens so we can examine and marvel together. I can't seem to get enough of learning about insects through collecting, breeding, photography, and internet surfing. In summer of 2007 I was accepted as a Research Associate for the Florida Collection of Arthropods in Gainsville. I have the most experience with Lepidoptera, but enjoy all orders. If it moves, it has my attention. While many of my photos are taken inside, I do prefer natural shots. I am especially fond of insect eyes, hence many head shots in my photos. Some of my favorites are shown below.
